Download an Instagram Reel on PC or Mac
- Open the specific Reel in Instagram.
- Select Share and Copy link.
- Confirm that the URL points to an individual

Why avoid an unknown browser extension?
A normal Reel URL should not require an extension that can read every page you visit. A desktop workflow keeps the download task in a separate app and saves the finished file to the folder you choose. Always obtain installers from the official VidKite website and review browser-extension permissions before installing any extension.
HD quality and clean output
Best quality means the highest media rendition Instagram makes accessible for that specific public Reel. It does not guarantee that every Reel has a true 1080p file. VidKite does not add a watermark and saves a clean media version when the platform provides one.
Graphics already edited into the picture by the creator remain part of the video. Downloading a file is not the same as editing objects out of its frames.
When a Reel cannot be downloaded
Test the link while signed out. Private accounts, followers-only posts, deleted Reels, regional restrictions, age limits, and protected media may not be available. Do not use a downloader to bypass account permissions.
If the Reel plays publicly but still fails, copy a fresh link from the individual Reel, update the desktop app, and try without saved browser login information first.
Save the finished Reel to iPhone Photos
For a file downloaded on your PC, transfer the completed MP4 with a cloud drive or a normal file-transfer tool. On a Mac, AirDrop is another option. If the file opens in Files on your iPhone, tap Share, then Save Video when that action is available. Desktop iPhone-compatible output can help when Photos rejects the format.
For a single public Reel, you can skip the computer transfer:
- Open the online Instagram Reels downloader in Safari on the iPhone.
- Paste the individual Reel link, choose the available quality, and wait for processing to finish.
