Save the video in three steps
- Copy the link: Copy the /reel/ or /p/ page address from Instagram’s Share menu or your browser.
- Paste it into VidKite: Choose a destination folder and put one link on each line.
- Download: Select Best quality or an iPhone-friendly option, then follow percentage, speed, and remaining time.
Which links work?
Public Reels and video posts are the best fit. Private accounts, followers-only posts, age restrictions, and region restrictions may prevent access.
Only download videos you own, have permission to save, or are otherwise legally authorized to download. Follow the source platform's terms and applicable law.
Common problems
Instagram returns an empty media response
Open the same link in a signed-out or private browser window. If it plays publicly, update VidKite and retry without sign-in data.
Using browser sign-in makes the download fail
Switch to the no-login option for public content. Public Instagram links are often more reliable through the anonymous path.
A copied shortcode URL returns 404
Do not build an API URL manually. Paste the normal Reel or post page URL into VidKite.
Download from your phone with a bot
