Save the video in three steps
- Copy the link: Copy a standard youtube.com/watch link, a youtu.be share link, or a youtube.com/shorts link from your browser or the Share menu.
- Paste it into VidKite: Choose a destination folder and put one link on each line.
- Download: Select Best quality or an iPhone-friendly option, then follow percentage, speed, and remaining time.
For several links, paste one URL per line. VidKite saves files directly to your chosen folder and can produce common H.264 and AAC output for easier iPhone playback.
Which links work?
Public videos and Shorts that play without an account are the most reliable. Private, members-only, paid, deleted, age-restricted, region-restricted, or protected videos may not be available.
Only download videos you own, have permission to save, or are otherwise legally authorized to download. Follow the source platform's terms and applicable law.
Common problems
The YouTube download is slow
Install the latest VidKite version, close other high-bandwidth apps, and retry the same public link. Available speed also depends on the source server and selected quality.
A YouTube Short is not detected
Open the Short in a browser, copy the final youtube.com/shorts address, and make sure it plays in a signed-out or private browser window.
The app says a format is unavailable
Update VidKite and retry with Best quality. Platforms change their available formats, and some videos expose fewer choices than others.
Download from your phone with a bot
VidKite can keep Telegram and Feishu bots active while the desktop app runs, letting you send supported public links back to your computer.
Still not working?
Confirm that the original link plays publicly, install the latest version, then contact VidKite support with your app version, operating system, exact error, and a public test link.
